Rand McNally TND 710 Truck GPS, May 9, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Rand McNally Intelliroute TND 710 Truck GPS (Electronics) Bought this for my husband as he is an over the road truck driver. This is the first mapping equipment he has ever used for his truck routes. And, "technology" is not always his friend! But I have to say he is able to understand this GPS real well. He likes all the featurs on it and has been able to adjust things for his use without any problems. He especially likes the "speeding" alert when the spead changes on the highway. As we know, truck drivers don't need any of those! He was concerned of it's size (7" screen) and blocking his view in the windshield but has not had that problem either. All in all....he is really liking this gps!

WOW !I, April 14, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Rand McNally Intelliroute TND 710 Truck GPS (Electronics) I have only had the 710 for a short time and it is great. Even if you know where you are going, it gives you the street names as you approach your destination. This is especially useful at night. The speaker is loud enough to hear over a loud engine and the screen size is great. It has not directed me to any streets that are not adequate for a large truck.

Just shoot me now and get it over!, July 2, 2011 This review is from: Rand McNally Intelliroute TND 710 Truck GPS (Electronics) I purchased the 710 in March and I am now on my third unit. The first unit kept locking up with an application error and would not dock with my computer. The second unit would not get a gps signal anywhere (even standing in my front yard pointing it towards the sky on a clear night). The third? It worked for almost two months before it started acting up. It has started locking up after a couple of hours of use. It appears to be getting hot from being mounted on the windshield in hotter temperatures, but I'm not certain that is the cause. Granted Rand McNally has replaced the two previous units with no hassle, but if you don't or can't trust the unit to function properly it's not worth having. That covers the functionality, now the programming. This unit has plenty of bells and whistles and they are pretty cool, but this is primarily a gps unit and should provide practical and accurate routing. This is not always the case with this device.
